A jamboree of creativity and dandelion clock blowing...
Hosted by ictGateshead at Gateshead City Learning Centre
Virtual Vision is a Pandoras Box, open the lid and share the treasure. Learning has always been in a constant state of change, how, where, who, why, when and what. It is changing now. Educationalists, strategists, academics and politicians tell us that the future we are planning for now requires creative thinkers, problem solvers, people bursting with ideas and innovation.
If the future is to be different to meet changing needs of work / life patterns then things have to change. In order for things to change we have to do things differently. Creative learning and thinking changes attitudes and practice.
Creative Partnerships has developed one model for enabling the learning world to interagte and benefit from the creativity of the cultural sector and it's value in coaching and unleashing the creative minds we desire. The purpose of Virtual Vision is to share in that practice, to gain knoweldge from their experience and give it context in a future aspiration of creative learning in Gateshead.
In Gateshead we have been developing a strong cultural offer to learning settings. Virtual Vision will begin a conversation which will influence discussions on Building Schools for the future, our Eduational Development Plans, Training needs, programmes for artisits working in learning settings, as well as school practice and service delivery. Virtual Vision is time to think creatively in a way which can have some practical impact on delivery and practice. The debate will coninue into the autumn term and culminate in a presentation in November setting out our next steps.
All our participants and contributors are here because of our expertise and specialisms, already developing creativity and committed to making a difference.
Thanks to the expertise of the Gateshead City Learning Centre staff our conversations will have regional and national currency, they will be open and available for a wider audience to participate and contribute to. Their innovative use of technology is at the forefront of changing attitudes as to how we share with and serve learners.

Using Mind Mapping, design the creative lesson using the skills and knowledge of both you and your vision partner.
Rules for mind mapping – 1) use lots of different colours to make your points. 2) use as many symbols or images as possible and as few words as you can. 3) include outcomes, impact and assessment criteria as well, 4) consider the rewards for the learning achievements.

I have worked as a professional artist for over 15 years in both my own practice and as a director of the arts
organisation 'Makers and Shakers' working in the community with schools and council projects accross the North east. What makes me happy is dreaming up new art projects and eating good food with friends and family!.
